Exercise: Regular exercise on a daily basis. Start slow with 10-15 minutes a day and gradually increase.

Deconditioned: Not sure why you were advised against lifting heavy objects or weights. If your heart racing is due to deconditioning, you can gradually train and get beck into shape. Exercise would be recommended for most individuals and should be at an appropriate intensity for age and overall health. Discuss your options with your doctor.
