Depends: The glucometer may not work in the cold. You would not feel fine with a glucose level of 42.

False reading?: Your glucose reading may not have been accurate if your hand was very cold and your blood vessels were constricted, especially if you normally get symptoms when your blood sugars are low.

Read manual: All meters have temperature limitations. I don't know of any meter that will work properly at 20F. Check the manual that came with the meter for more information about the temperature range for your meter. If you no longer have the manual, you can call the 1-800 number on the back of the meter or check online.
