Food challenge: The "gold standard" of food sensitivity is the double blind food challenge, in which neither the physician nor the patient know what is being administered. To properly diagnose food sensitivity you should see an allergist/immunologist, the steps taken would include taking a history, possibly a food diary, skin and blood testing. If necessary, a food challenge.

Skin test: Consult your allergist to get skin testing to check for potential sensitivity (a blood test call immunocap ige may help also but tends to be less sensitive). After that , you will need to be challenged to the suspected food to confirm its presence. Note that occasionally a person may be allergic to a food despite negative skin and blood tests and thus the challenge test is the gold standard

Skin test: The best way to determine if you have an allergy to a food or other substance is by having a skin test through your allergist.
