A member asked:

My mom is 84 years old with degenerative arthritis in her back. her doctors say there is nothing they can do - is that true?

Probably not: "degenerative arthritis in.. Back" is probably unrelated to her problems. That usually refers to osteophytes on the margins of vertebrae, something that is actually usually asymptomatic and just a phenomenon of aging, not a cause of pain. Evaluation by a rheumatologist should help.

NOT TRUE!!: Be proactive, I use acupuncture, dry needling, gunn-ims, lots of strategically placed trigger points, intense physical therapy to help my young and old patients have a better quality of life and mobility. Get advice on discontinuing meds that cause aches, pains and stiffness, like statins and bone density meds. I’ve gotten patients out of wheelchairs in 2 months this this therapy.
