? ganglion cyst: This could be something called a ganglion cyst. It is a collection of fiuid that outpouches from the sheath that holds a tendon. The sheath can get irritated and form a cyst which has a rubbery consistency. Your doctor should be able to help you if this is what it is.

Is the bump soft or: It depends on the size and characteristics of the bump. This could be ganglion cyst. If you transiluminate it (shine a small light from the side) and it lights up (in dark room ) this can suggest fluid and suggests a cyst. If it does not it is more likely nof to be fluid and is nodule or other semisolid structure which could include bone or synovial tissue. Your md can help you differentiate this.

Unclear question: If you have arthritis then begin to treat with a wrist velcro splint (cock up wrist splint available in most drug stores), ice/heat as needed, and nsaid's (advil, alleve or motrin). If you have a bump then you may have a ganglion cyst or other mass. Please see an orthopedic surgeon for proper evaluation and treatmnet plan. Good luck!
