NSAIDS, ice, walk: Low intensity cycling or walking, then gentle stretching exercises. Ice for about 45 minutes 3-4 times per day, will address inflammation and swelling, never apply ice to the skin, always over a towel or clothing. Pain can be relieved with over-the-counter medications like advil or aleve (naproxen). Follow directions on label.

Headaches: Some patient might experience headache with neck pain. You can try stretching exercise, heat or ice packs first. You also can try over the counter medication like tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen. If your headache and neck pain are not improved with these treatment, i recommend you seeking help from a doctor. You might benefit from a comprehensive evaluation.
