Surrogate: if needed: For most women a gestational carrier (surrogate) is not needed. Exceptions - women with severe disease of the uterus like scar tissue (asherman's syndrome) that could not be fixed by surgery, or a woman with medical problems that make pregnancy unsafe for her or the baby like severe kidney disease. If none of the above success rates should be the same for the 43 year old without using a surrogate.
