Yeast infection: These most commonly involve the vagina or the mouth and are predisposed to by treatment with antibiotics, immunosuppression, diabetes or alterations to bowel bacteria. These are generally mild, easily managed with either topical or oral antifungals. If they recur they may be due either to reinfection from a sexual partner carrying this, or to the fact that something is wrong with immunity (hiv?).
