Spotting: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ; hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Depends...: It all depends in what context. The period may start with very little blood, in some like a spotting and then bleeds more as the days go by. As long as it lasts 3-7 days. If this is new for you, I would like to know, are you in new birth control? Any pain? Vaginal discharge? If the answer us yes to any of these questions you would need to see a gynecologist for exam and management as necessary.
