A member asked:

I had a period started on the 10th of this month it ended on the 14th it was a normal period. i'm spotting on the28th. why is that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mid-cycle spotting: Spotting during the mid-cycle is not uncommon and is due to a physiologic dip in estrogen levels. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
