Yes it can: Accutane and Isotretinoin type drugs have been associated with birth defects. Although the exact mechanism is not known, most of these defects are caused by underlying changes in gene expression due to the drug. However, Accutane does not change the dna of your sperm/egg long term. So taking Accutane does not mean you will have a greater liklihood of inherited disorders. Just avoid during preg.
