See doctor: You should see an endocrinologist for the answer. There are physical features of klinefelters. The doctor can either confirm your suspicions or get rid of your concerns.
Dr. James Ferguson

See your PCP: Your pcp can order the specific genetic blood test that can confirm or exclude the issue. If you are not and are concerned about specific issues, your pcp will know what local sources are available to sort them out.

No: Klinefelter syndrome is a group of features seen in some males with an extra x chromosome (they are xxy). A klinefelter syndrome male tends to be taller than expected compared to his father and brothers. Klinefelter syndrome is not related to Marfan syndrome.

No: This is a genetic abnormality, actually a chromosomal abnormality. No treatment exists yet for fixing it. But some of the effects of klinefelter's can be managed.
A 47-year-old member asked:

Extra X in men: Klinefelter syndrome is usually caused by an extra x chromosome in males, changing their normal 46, xy chromosome constitution to 47, xxy. The extra x causes tall stature with an asthenic build, underdevelopment of the testis and infertility. Sometimes there is more than one x, like 48, xxxy, often causing intellectual disability. The extra chromosome is a chance occurrence.

A 41-year-old member asked:

How do I know if I have klinefelter syndrome?

Dr. Alfredo Garcia
Pediatrics 56 years experience
Klinefelter syndrome: Klinefelter syndrome occurs only in men and is defined classically by a 47, XXY karyotype instead of the usual male sex complement (genotype xy). These males have enlarged breasts, sparse facial and body hair, small testes, an inability to produce sperm, some mental retardation and psycho-social problems. One has to be evaluated by both an endocrinologist and a geneticist.
