24-48 hrs but ask!!: Typically well approximates wounds epithelialize within 24-48 hours but there may be other reasons to leave the dressings on longer including the possibility you may disrupt and open the wound so why guess and ask your surgeon.

48 hours: In patients without healing difficulties, the average wound is "water-proofed" in about 48 hours. That means you can take your dressing off after that. In my practice, if surgical drains are not present, showers can be taken. I don't recommend baths until after one week typically. Dr. Shah.

Depends: Some surgeons close there skin with staples, some use skin sutures like nylon, and others uses subcuticular absorbable suture.Your surgeon is you best guide.You should follow his or her instructions!
