Imaging studies: Of course it will depend on the mechanism and force involved with the injury as well as your husband's exam but it is likely that he will need imaging studies (usually a ct scan) to evaluate for bleeding in or around the brain as well as any fracture to the mandible (jaw bone). Even if the ct is normal, any significant head injury can result in a post concussive syndrome- headaches, dizziness, etc.
