Dr. John Chiu answered

Each one to his own: For moderate to severe asthma, the medication usually includes an inhaled steroid and a long-acting bronchodilator. At times, singulair (montelukast) is also used. After that a trial of an anti-ige (allergy antibody) product may be considered. There is no single best treatment and thus it needs be tailored. Allergen avoidance is very important. See an allergist.
