UTI Rx: Amoxicillin was at one time a treatment of choice for uncomplicated UTI in women who are not allergic to penicillin. It may still work, but the rate of treatment failure is now large. Other options include Ciprofloxacin (cipro), and many others. You should see your doctor for an evaluation and to get the best treatment for you. Followup to ensure that the infection is eradicated is important.
