Missed period: Anytime that menstrual period does come on time, pregnancy should always be the first to think about, perform a pregnancy test now and a week later if the first is negative and the period does not come.

A 28-year-old member asked:
What would cause your period to come in 18 days when it is always regularly?

Depends: There are many reasons a period might come early. Medications can effect hormones and the menstrual cycle. Stress can have a major impact on the duration of a cycle. A person could develop an ovarian cyst that effects when a menstrual cycle occurs. It may not be unusual if it happens once. It is recommended to monitor for trends and if recurs on a regular basis this should be evaluated.

Depends: Having a short period may not be anything significant. Some months are just different. It is important to keep track of your monthly periods .... Start and end date. How heavy was it? Cramps? Other symptoms? The overall big picture of your periods over several months will tell you more than just a one month glance. Birth control may have an effect on your periods ... Usually a beneficial effect.

No: If you are more than 13 days late, you need to see a doctor to find out why whether or not you are pregnant or late because of stress or other medical reasons. In some cases, when period is late , but is coming soon can cause cramping as well.

Period came a day late and first day has been just few drops. Any known cause of this?

Periods: Periods sometimes are not totally regular but usually revert to normal on their own. I would just wait and see. If you are suspicious of being pregnant wait a couple of weeks and do a pregnancy test
