No: Palpitations do not damage your heart. Palpitation can be completely normal, or caused by a cup of coffee, or surge of adrenaline from being excited. But a damaged heart can cause palpitations. Most young people with palpitations need not worry - unless they have a damaged heart, eg, congenital cardiomyopathy, excessive drug use (alcohol/cocaine), or severe hypercholesterolemia and coronary dis.
