Only if caused by: Panic anxiety. If the racing thoughts are part of a panic attack then you can get shortness of breath. Otherwise i would not expect racing thoughts from bipolar disorder to cause this nor would i expect anxiety from generalized anxiety disorder to cause shortness of breath. Best wishes.

No: No, but anxiety can. Shortness of breath, sweating, racing thought, shaking- can occur in severe anxiety or panic attacks. Panic attacks are severe but usually last minutes to hour only. You should see provider to treat anxiety- there are many treatments available including therapy, medications and nutritional therapy.
