Asthma: Sounds like an asthma attack to me. If you could hear wheezing (a high pitched squeaky noise when you exhale) that would support it. A test called "spirometry" would confirm it. There are excellent fast acting inhaler medications that you can keep on hand if it ever happens again. Good luck!
