Restrictive Airways: Is the term that comes to mind. "wheezing" is the sound created when air moves through narrowed breathing passages or tubes. Because there may be differing causes for the condition you describe, it's best, ultimately, to find out why. Allergy, infection, asthma, smoking-related constriction are possibilities. A mild URI may also lead to intermittent wheezing which is self-limited and not serious.
