Menstrual hunger: During the time of menstruation the female body burns more calories. Your body is simply telling you its time to eat more so you can keep up with your body's calorie needs. Some authors have suggested the metabolic rate of a woman at the time of menses is 15% greater than baseline.

Not much: There is no potion to increasing a baby's appetite, in some cases in which a baby drinks excessively they will not eat an adequate amount of solid food. In those cases we reduce the amount of liquids.
A 33-year-old member asked:

Is it normal for my baby's appetite to decrease once I start him on solid foods?

Yes: Your baby will take less milk as solid food increases. Most babies are taking milk every 3-4 hours at 6 months. By 9 months, babies are taking milk 3-4 times per day and at 1 year 2-3 times. Solids are generally more calorie-dense than milk, so babies continue to increase their calorie intake despite seeming to have a decreased appetite.
