Clots: Brusinng can cause that however blood clots or infection of your vein can be a cause and can be fatal.

Absolutely: Internal bleeding causes bruising. Hard to tell what damage has been done. Major loss of blood flow can cause necrosis of tissue and loss of the limb. You should have it looked at by a physician.
