How can a dentist treat gingival recession in ortho case ?

Need specialist: You need to see a periodontist, a specialist in treating bone/gum disorders. If crooked teeth are expanded beyond bone support (instead of extracting if too much tooth for size of supporting bone) the result may be recession and bone loss. Can also be due to underlying gum disease, systemic disorder such as diabetes, etc. See a periodontist for diagnosis and rx.

Gum recession: Gingival recession during or post ortho tx is always a possibility..... Once the orthodontist is done see a periodontist to evaluate the receded areas......Or you can see him during ortho tx he may be able to graft gum tissue from the roof of the mouth to cover the exposed areas.
