CVID: For cvid diagnosis, besides low immunoglobulin levels, the ability of the immune system to response to vaccinations is also affected. Plus you have to have recurrent/severe infections and all reasons of losing proteins have to be ruled out like lost of proteins in the urine/gi tract. Infections ; steroid (but not antibiotic) use could lower igg levels so labs should be repeated when you recover.
