Minutes: This is a tricky question, as per how one defines death, in fact, in some cases the body might be alive ( heart, lungs ) but the person is pronounced dead due to brain death criteria. In general, once the heart has stopped, circulation stops and the brain is not getting oxygen. Approximately 4 minutes remains until brain death, after 10 minutes is considered incompatable with life as we know it.
