Possible nephritis: I'm not sure but it's known to cause nephritis (serious kidney problems) that may manifest with fatigue. It can also cause magnesium deficiency ; other serious problems. The safety of Protonix (pantoprazole) ; similar drugs taken for prolonged periods hasn't been studied, yet docs prescribe them for years. I feel they should not be used more than a few months.
