Burns: Take him/her to the doctor. Tooth paste application is not recommended treatment. If small burn, use silver sulfadiazine cream; there are different otc burn cream also.

Burn: Burns are common in children. Treatment depends on what u see. Just red.. Lube the skin with vasoline twice a day. Blisters.. U need to see a doc to drain them, then lube it with neosporin oitment twice a day.. If the skin turned white and fell off, you need immediate attention with a doc. Also, since it is on the knee, it take longer to heal and needs to be wrapped with cotton gauze..

Why?: Off label use of any product cannot be recommended, so don't use toothpaste to treat burns. That being said, depending on the brand of toothpaste, obviously there was some reagent which was intended to use on gingiva but when introduced on a burn on your baby, it bubbled. Likely it is a peroxide compound, but that is just a guess. Next time use a burn compound instead of toothpaste.
