A member asked:

Is there anything you can take to help menstural migraines?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

NSAID: Your #1 first line of treatment would be nsaids like ibuprofen. Some doctors prescribe triptans, ergotamine drugs, propranalol, verapamil. Other doctors might recommend menstrual suppression (skipping placebo week of birth control pills) or adding estrogen patches. If you've tried otc meds and they aren't working, consider making an appt with headache specialist (neurologist) or gynecologist.
