A member asked:

Any intuitive books on what to eat and what not to eat if you have hypothyroidism? i've heard certain vegetables are not good to eat, why is that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No problem: I am not aware of any food restrictions for people with hypothyroidism under treatment. People with untreated autoimmune thyroid disease should avoid excess iodine in their diet. Once you are on thyroid hormone replacement, you just want to make sure you take the medication on an empty stomach and wait at least 40 min before eating.
