Likely- muscle cramp: With no history of trauma or injury, the most likely cause of pain in the area described is a muscle injury. The intercostal, latissmus, and serratus anterior and rhomboid periscapular muscles could be some og the actual muscles involved. A trial of nsaids, rest, light stretching (when tolerated) should allow for a slef-limiting recovery. If still painful > 7 days seek orthopaedic evaluation.
