Could your sinuses explode?

Briefly, no.: They can't 'explode'. True acute infection can, however, speead to important surrounding areas like the brain, eyes and main blood vessels in the head. It sounds like you're referring to the pressure many people report with nasal/sinus concerns. Try decongestant and saline irrigation and visit a doc if you don't get better. Go sooner if you have visual changes.

Explode?: Although your sinuses will not explode, certain types of sinus infection will erode through adjacent bones and produce osteomyelitis, or infection can spread into surrounding tissues or the brain and its linings and cavities.
