Normal emotions: Feeling moody after a breakup (if only that) is a normal emotional response to the ending of a relationship. Major depression is at least two weeks of feeling depressed with any four of the following: having poor sleep or over sleeping, poor concentration, low energy, feelings of excessive guilt or worthlessness, not being able to enjoy anything, having suicidal thoughts, etc.

It depends....: It is normal to be blue, it is may be that depression actually caused the breakup. If some depressive symptoms preceded the break-up the etiology of the mood may not be the relationship. If your mood is less than a 5 out of 10 [10 good], you need help in any case.
