Maybe: It is a reasonable move after you have accustomed to the 75mg dose. Keep track of your mood changes so you can report to your doctor whether or not it is changing.

Effexor (venlafaxine): If advised & monitored closely by your doctor, yes. Pay close attention to excess mood elevation such as anger outbursts, headaches, nausea/vomiting, and inform your doctor if any occur.

Maybe, maybe not: Everybody's different. Only way to know is to try it and see. But you don't need a doctor to tell you that. Your mother can tell you that.
