A member asked:

Help please! could dentist reuse old crowns?

Unlikely: Crowns are made to fit intimately on a tooth of a given shape. When decay or damage occur, the remaining tooth structure has to be cleaned and shaped again, resulting in the need for new crowns or restorations.

Yes: If your own crown came off and the underlying tooth structure is sound and the crown still fits well, that same crown could be recemented.

More info needed....: A crown that does not fit the tooth well anymore cannot be "reused". New crowns will then need to be fabricated.
