Yes: Any kind of infection can cause heart palpitations. The most common reasons for palpitations associated with infections include fever and dehydration. Treatment of the infection and adequate rest and fluids are helpful in preventing palpitations. Some sinus medications (those with pseudophed) can also cause or worsen palpitations, and should be avoided if palpitations are present.
