Peel and chapped lip: By its nature, the peel removes older damaged skin. It reconstitutes from deeper skin structures. The new skin is often delicate, tender, and dry at first. If not properly moisturized, it can feel chaffed, dry, and irritated. Hopefully you did not do your own peel. Moisturize with a petroleum-based ointment like Aquephor. Medicated ointments may be the cause of irritation and inflammation.
