A member asked:

What is risk of coumadin (warfarin) if pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

High risk: Coumadin is a category x which means that it is clear it causes problems. This includes central nervous system defects, spontaneous abortion, stillbirth, prematurity, hemorrhage, and ocular defects when given anytime during pregnancy, and a fetal warfarin syndrome when given during the first trimester. Fetal warfarin syndrome involves facial abnormalities and bone problems.
