A member asked:

I was wondering are skipped periods normal at 45?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very common: This is usually because you are entering the perimenopause, though there are sometimes other causes. However, if missing more than 3 cycles in a row, you are at risk of very heavy bleeding. Many patients if done with child bearing in my practice get ablations done to eliminate the period completely.
