No: In general cycles should be monthly. If you are having periods months apart this is not normal . Have your periods been regular? Amenorrhea is defined as no period for 3 months. If you are older than 16 and not menstruating that is primary amenorrhea.

Not normal...: ... and not necessarily serious. But best to see a doctor, preferably a gynecoloist: better safe than sorry. Are you by any chance thin and athletic? These body features can lead to amenorrhea (absent menstruation) in girls your age. In any case, get it checked out soon. Good luck.
