A member asked:

After having a complete hysterectomy, how long does menopause usually last?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Menopause: Having a hysterectomy doesnt lead to menopause.Having your ovaries removed at the time of hyst. Leads to a surgical menopause. If this is your case, menopause means cessation of menstrual period. You will be menopausal for the rest of your life.Symptoms can last a few months or a few years. They can even recurr in later life. If surgical menopause, symptoms are worse sometimes than for natural menop.
