It's you: Quite a few people of african descent simply run a low neutrophil count all the time. It seems to do no harm whatever. I suspect the reason is that their neutrophils stick a bit tighter to the blood vessel walls -- unlike red cells, neutrophils ordinarily stay put and only take short trips in the blood stream.
