A friend of mine said if malaria parasites live in you for period or longtime. it can lead to liver problem or hepatitis b.true or false?

True....: There are four types of malarial parasites: plasmodium vivax, p. Falciparum, p. Ovale and p. Malarie, some of them have hepatic cycle. So, after treatment of primary infection, hepatic or liver eradication medication is given. Make sure, you follow the instruction of your doctor and complete full course of the anti-malarial treatment s/he has given to you.

It's true: It depends on the species of plasmodium . Of the 5 known species that cause disease in humans, p. Ovale can stay in a certain form in the liver, and can present clinically years later. This species is typically found in western africa but have been reported in other countries outside this region.
