If a neurologist: Has ruled out neurologic causes for your symptoms that makes it more likely that your depersonalization is related to your panic attacks. Don't see any psychiatric medications listed. If you are not already seeing a pyschiatrist - would encourage you to do so. It sounds like you are completely trusting the neurologic input.

Safe but not effect: Citalopram did not pass clinical trials for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder. When it was divided up into its components, Lexapro (escitalopram) was developed which was found to be helpful in generalized anxiety disorder but not panic disorder. You should see a psychiatrist and get a recommendation for a medication that treats both gad and pd. Best wishes.

Don't be scared.: Citalopram is a very good medication to treat anxiety and is well-tolerated. There are warnings to not use above 40 mg but lower doses are safe and can decrease anxiety and do have few side effects. Therapy for gad and oanic disorders can help, as well as many self help books. Natural aids such as GABA calm with gaga, taurine and inosital can also affoed good resuts- this can be bought in health f.
