Virus: Quite often blister-like sores in the throat or tonsils are caused by viral infections. This breakdown of the mucous membrane protection can sometimes lead to secondary infections from bacteria.

Sore Throat: There are many causes of sore throat, yours sounds like a pharyngitis. Symptoms include pus on the tonsils with redness, fever, swollen lymph nodes in the neck. There may or may not be a cough. It is recommended that you see a doctor to obtain antibiotics if they are needed to avoid complications that may arise.
