Variable: It is frustrating to many, but true. There are different rashes associated with lupus and many don't itch, but some do. If this is a single symptom so far - you will probably find an uncertain diagnosis based either on global facial flushing or itchy skin. Try not to panic and try to find a doctor you can express your worries to. Many early disease signs are unclear - therapists can help.

It varies: There are many types of rash seen in lupus. Usually the rash is apparent or brought out by sun exposure. It is less likely to have itching without rash.
