Yes, except: I have heard of this effect being used for organic processes, mostly in digestive and obstetric conditions. I have not heard that it provides a recreational drug type "high" or being used to stay awake intentionally. Yes.: Curcumin is the basic ingredient in turmeric which is a spice used in curries. Some studies have shown it has anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and anti-oxidant properties. However, it can be a mild stimulant and cause premature contractions in pregnant women at high doses.
