Get tests;learn more: Thyroid problems are generally easy to diagnose, and easy to treat. Lab tests are essential. The common, basic "t4" is not sufficient. Instead, the dr must look at the entire thyroid profile, which includes a measure of TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone). Have your dr review the results with you.
