Yes... it can: There is an easy stool test for c, difficile. If it is positive .... It is easy to treat by addiing flagyl... Talk to your doctor.

Yes -: The reason for this is that Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) doesn't just kill the bad germs in your body, but it also kills a number of the good bacteria in your large intestines that keeps the c difficile bacteria in-check. Metronidazole or else, vancomycin by mouth (for example) can treat it, along with minimizing lactose products during this period, and the possiblre use of probiotics. Discuss this with your doctor.
