A member asked:

Can people with lactose intolerance still absorb the calcium in milk and dairy products?

Yes: Calcium is not tied to lactose. Calcium is a mineral. Lactose is a sugar. People with lactose intolerance don't have enough working lactase, the enzyme to break down lactose into its component sugars glucose and galactose. Lactose is undigestable but the component sugars are.
